Frankie, Mittie and Jim are honored to represent the many McLeans, past and present, who call Blythewood home.
The railroad brought the McLeans to Blythewood.
There have now been 7 generations of McLeans in Blythewood and
continuing we hope.
Jim’s father, Hudnalle B. Mclean Sr. was the town postmaster for over 40 years.
Many of the Blythewood pictures you see were taken by Hudnalle Sr., the unofficial historian of Blythewood. Jim took that job over when he and Frankie sat at their kitchen table with a few friends and decided to start a
Historical Society in Blythewood. In 2011 this group acquired the Langford-Nord house and you know the rest is history.
Frankie was the first president of the Historical Society. She also taught in Richland County schools for 33 years, with 20 of those years in Blythewood.
Mittie is the widow of Hud McLean, Jr. She taught school in Blythewood for
many years. Mittie was president of the Blythewood Garden Club when they published the first Blythewood Scrapbook in 1976 in conjunction with
the USA Bi-Centennial. Mittie is instrumental in organizing, along with members of Sandy Level Church, “Wreaths Across America” honoring our
Veterans during the Christmas Season.
Jim has been active in the town for the last 40 years. Jim has served on
Town Council, the Board of Architectural Review, the Planning Commission, as well as president of the Historical Society. Jim was also a founding member of Doko Meadows Park Foundation.
Jim and Frankie have never missed a Christmas tree lighting in Blythewood!
